Online Tool Tests Your Knowledge, Provides Information on HIT Incentive Payments

by Rebecca Farley on January 19, 2011

Medscape has launched an online tool designed to help you assess whether you know how to take advantage of federal health information technology incentive payments. These payments are available to certain eligible providers and facilities for the adoption, implementation, upgrade, and meaningful use of certified electronic health records.

The Medscape self assessment, called “Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentives: What Do You Know and Do You Know Enough?” asks users a series of questions about their specialization, practice setting, and EHR usage. The assessment then asks questions designed to determine the user’s level of knowledge about federal HIT incentive payments and provides the correct answers. Upon completion of the activity, users will gain an understanding of whether they are eligible for the HIT incentive payments program and how to participate.

Participation requires the user to log in to Medscape – however, registration is free and does not entail any commitment. Continuing education credits are available.
