New at Hill Day 2011: Advocate of the Year Award

by Rebecca Farley on February 28, 2011

At the National Council, we know that our policy successes in Washington depend in large part on the consistent and vocal support of our members who speak up to their elected officials about the importance of our shared public policy goals. At Hill Day 2011, for the first time, we will honor our most active grassroots advocate(s) with a new award. The Advocate of the Year award will be presented to the person or people from National Council member organizations who most often contacted their legislators in response to our Action Alerts from Hill Day 2010 (June) to Hill Day 2011 (July).

But that’s not all – from now until Hill Day, we’ll also recognize our members who are most active each month in contacting your legislators. Here’s how the Monthly Advocacy Challenge works: For the next 5 months – February, March, April, May, and June – the National Council will track your action alert responses. Each month, we’ll honor the individuals from National Council member organizations who took action on the most alerts with special recognition in our email newsletters and on our website. Visit our website to learn more about Hill Day – and don’t forget to register and book your hotel room today!
