Early Innovators Grants to be Awarded for Developing Health Exchange IT

The Department of Health and Human Services has announced the availability of competitive funding opportunities for States to design and implement the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure needed to operate Health Insurance Exchanges.

These 2-year “Early Innovators” grants will be awarded for projects to  develop cutting-edge and cost effective technologies and models for insurance eligibility and enrollment for Exchanges, helping to create a simpler, consumer-oriented system for individuals, families and businesses to sign up for health insurance. Eligible applicants are state governments. The application deadline is Dec. 22, 2010.
